Pfeiffer Beach Engagement Session in Big Sur, CA

Just like any other photographer, I love me a good ol’ sunset. Nothing beats the orange rays, the warm tones, the gradient in the sky, the list goes on and on. BUT an overcast in Big Sur is something that should not be overlooked. The “moodiness” (hate to sound clichè) in the images just provides a completely different look and feel.

I think when people from out of state come to California, they expect to see the sun shining all day, especially in the summer. However, in the central coast, it’s sometimes the opposite. June and July at time can be almost as foggy as our fall and winter months. Some couples tend to fret, when they see the fog and think that the weather isn’t optimal for photos. When in fact, overcast day provide some of the best type of light. What’s even better is that there’s no “finding the best light” because there’s nice soft light everywhere when the clouds are diffusing the sun light.

Anyways, before I digress into the technical aspect about overcast light, let’s jump into this fun engagement session + some 35mm film shots that I did also!

Here are the film shots!
