Santa Barbara Elopement - Santa Barbara Courthouse to Funk Zone

The fact that you get elope at a place with such beautiful architecture then head to a place that is called “Funk Zone” is the coolest story to tell.

First let’s start off with the courthouse. Why can’t all courthouses look like Santa Barbara’s? Like is it really that hard? (I’m being sarcastic, it’s hard to give off tone in text). Located in the heart of Santa Barbara and just a few minutes away from State Street. (I actually posted another blog about how a couple took their whole wedding party down State Street, check it out right here!) How awesome that locals can just walk through this on their daily commute?

Our next stop, well it was actually a quick pit stop, was the shopping area called Paseo Nuevo. I had been here before and knew that it had this area with amazing spanish tiles on a staircase, then we just casually proceeded to walk through the shopping center very nonchalantly.

Okay then we finally got to Funk Zone, and the name implies exactly what the area looks like. An area filled with painting and murals on the wall. I found this huge pink wall and just went for it. While exploring the area, I saw this huge tiger mural on the Dart Coffee building and since it was in black and white, I thought it would be interesting to put the couple up against it with their black and white attire.

We finished off our time by walking to West Beach and popping some champagne, naturally.
