The Most Heartwarming Proposal in Big Sur - Big Sur Photographer

Once you pass Carmel, going south on Highway 1, and you start getting glimpses of the rocky coastline; you already get a sense of the otherworldly aura that Big Sur offers. It truly is “magical” without being corny. Especially on the days when the marine layer fog sets in, it seems almost cinematic, movie-like. Now imagine all of this and… include all the feelings of being proposed to and proposing! Yes, it definitely is an emotional rollercoaster.

I love when I get to photograph people from out of state, especially from the east coast. I typically find that east coast couples really are in such awe when they see Big Sur. It never gets old to me at how amazed they are. I mean I pass these epic locations every day like they’re street signs, so it reminds me that being able to photograph here is no “normal day at the office”.

Every time I photograph a proposal and I see someone get down on one knee, I’ve always got the biggest smile and I’m guilty of being a spectator instead of a photographer (haha!). It’s just my natural reaction to just see life and love being played right in front of me, sometimes I can’t help but just simply watch.

Anyways, let’s get to the photos. I worked along side some amazing vendors. The decor was done by the amazing Forage Vintage Rental Co. and the planning was done by the world famous The Heart Bandits.
