City Hall and Sutro Baths Elopement in San Francisco + 35mm Film

Photographing at San Francisco City Hall is also a very interesting and refreshing experience for me as a photographer. It’s very systematic, in that, you can’t just go in guns blazing and finding spot to get married in then wander the halls taking photos. First you have to check in for your marriage license, then you have to sit and wait till your number is called, then you go in and get your marriage license signed and “officalized”, THEN you can have a ceremony in a designated spot chosen by the officiant on duty. So in a nutshell, it’s pretty much opposite of the environment that I’m used to, coming from photographing near the water and amongst the trees in Big Sur. I mean even the landscape is completely different going from natural to architectural. And yet, I love every moment of it.
